REGISTRATION FEES
DO
YOU REQUIRE A REGISTRATION FEE?
No. However, you must be
registered with the ISCF
sanctioning body, currently
costing $25.
If you are local, we do
require you to sell at least 20
tickets to the show. You will
be compensated 15% commission on
any tickets you sell.
We do this for a few
reasons:
1. For local fighters it's
important to develop a local fan
base for themselves.
2. It frees up our time
considerably which in turn
allows us to concentrate more of
our efforts towards putting on
professionally ran, safe, well
matched show the fans will
enjoy.
3. When you fight as an
amateur, you are learning
several things in addition to
fighting. Making yourself more
marketable to a promoter is one
of them. We have over 400
fighters in our database, so
things like this can obviously
play a part in our decisions (it
is business after all).
You won't always fight for us.
Some day you will move on. It is
important to gain the ability to
sell tickets now. It is a
learning process. If you fight
for other promoters some day,
you could very well be expected
to sell from two to three
hundred tickets! I've heard this
directly from other promotions.
4. Simply put, it helps
bring people through the door.
There's nothing worse for you as
a fighter than to train 3 months
for a fight, just to have a few
hundred people show up to watch.
TRAINING
DO
YOU ACCEPT SELF TRAINED
FIGHTERS?
Self
trained fighters must submit a
tape showing them sparring and
providing examples of there
current level of training and
skill level. We strive to
match fighters based on skill
level, experience, and fight
record.
TRAVEL AND HOTEL EXPENSES
DO
YOU PAY THE FIGHTER'S TRAVEL
EXPENSES?
We reimburse gas up to a
maximum of 1,000 miles (round
trip). Keep your receipts
and turn them in during
settlement after the fights.
We will double them to cover
round trip costs.
DO
YOU PAY FOR HOTEL EXPENSES FOR
EACH FIGHTER?
A fighter
must drive a minimum of 100
miles one way to be
eligible for a hotel room. We
put two fighters to a room.
CORNER PERSONNEL
DO YOU
PAY HOTEL EXPENSES FOR THE
CORNER PEOPLE.
No, we do not, but we
don't have a problem with them
staying with their fighter.
HOW
MANY CORNER PEOPLE ARE WE
ALLOWED TO HAVE?
You are allowed to have up
to 2 corner people.
DO
YOU SUPPLY THE CORNER PEOPLE
WITH A SEAT DURING THE OTHER
FIGHTS?
No, we do not. We allow
them 'standing room' admission
to the fights, but do not
provide a seat.
BLOOD WORK
DOES
DRAGONS CAGE REQUIRE FIGHTERS
TO HAVE A VALID BLOOD WORK-UP
DONE?
For the PRO level, we require HIV and HEP testing that must be valid
within the year. Often you will
find you can get this done at
your local health department for
FREE. Do it NOW though, as the
HEP results take some time to
come back!
Amateurs do not have to
have this testing done.
However, it is suggested.
FIGHT SUPPLIES
WHAT DO
YOU SUPPLY FOR THE FIGHT?
We supply gloves, ice,
and water.
PAY AND AWARDS
DO
AMATEUR FIGHTERS GET PAID FOR
FIGHTING?
No, once a fighter is
paid, he is considered 'pro' and
may never fight as an amateur
again.
DO
FIGHTERS RECEIVE COMMISSION FOR
SELLING TICKETS?
You will be compensated
15% commission on any
tickets you sell if you
have been set up with a ticket
agent agreement. This can
not be done for Ticketmaster
venues.
DO
WINNERS RECEIVE ANYTHING?
Unlike most promotions,
Dragons Cage awards a
trophy to every winner in our
shows.
